Hi guys I have had an op amp LM4526 fitted to this dac, as well as the Wolfson dac but tirna have informed me that I don't currently have the mod 21 chip. Is this worth having done also?

Mod 21 involves swapping out the original opamp for a LM4526. It's a surface mount I/C.
What's this Mod 21 chip they're on about ?

There are 2 pdf files detailing Mod21 - one details the opamp change.
There's also the wire link mod to perform as well.

I was about to upgrade the other one which came in the Sony Viao box when I noticed that it did not have the mod 21 upgrade (2 off 220uF electrolytics and 2 off 22uF electrolytics changed to 47uF electrolytics & 2 resistors replaced by zero Ohm links).
Hopefully the above email response I had from them clarifies things?

If you dig through this thread you'll find links to both Mod21 pdf's and also the wire mod http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1811
