A few weeks ago Andrew ( agk ) kindly sent me some speaker cable free of charge . It was a Fisual 2.5mm cable and it sounded very good indeed . Well , curiosity got yhe better of me and I decided to investigate the brand further and I came across this one . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fisual-Super-Pearl-2-5mm-Speaker-Cable-White-Price-Per-Metre/381716054384?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
Having used it for a few days now I have to say that this is one of the best speaker cables I have ever heard ( in my system ) at any price , and I've heard quite a few . This is now in my system and will be staying .
I'm not saying it will work in every system but it has got to be worth a punt at this price . It's very well made and looks the biz :)

Yes. It's surprising how speaker cables vary in their effect on the sound. Expensive and fancy does not necessarily equate to good.

ah righty ho.. so 10mm shrink might be tight, but might just about fit. if i move speakers i would need bigger cables

ah righty ho.. so 10mm shrink might be tight, but might just about fit.

Once I cut off the required length of heatshrink, if it's going to be too snug, I expand it by inserting narrow nosed pliers and opening it out a bit. Works!

I separated the two conductors Grant . Just cut the end with a pair of scissors and pull them apart . I prefer both conductors to be separate . Your 10mm heatshrink will then fit :)

That's a good idea Geoff :)

i tried the hollywood twist that people raved about and found it harsh, brian have you tried van damme hifi cable?
i use this and find it very goo,i wonder if the fisual is worth another punt?

I've tried all the Van Damme Blue cables mate ( 1.5mm - 6mm ) and never took to any of them . I've also tried the Fisual Hollywood cable and it's lying in my cable box .
I was using Chord Epic Twin speaker cable and this one sounds better in my system .
In my system this cable is a bit special and is excellent VFM .

All my speaker cables are less than 1 metre in length so I don't expect to hear much, if any, difference between them.

I have tried Van Damme 4mm2 (Blue) and 6mm2 (with clear insulation), QED 79-strand and Fisual 'Hollywood'.

I like a bit of slack to play with in my speaker cables. 2.5m suits me, but longer will do.

well ive given this cable a few days of use and for me it just looses out to the van damme hifi UP-LCOFC Hi-Fi speaker cable i use,
the top end sounds a little fizzy and low to mid hasn't got the van damme's balance and solidity.
i think ive given it a fair go and for the price its worth considering.

the van damme is reviewed here if anyone fancies given it a go.

i use the 4mm, would there be any difference if i went to the 6mm?

if anyone wants to try the pearl send me a large self address jiffy bag and i'll send it on :)

Thanks Jamie , you gave it a fair hearing mate . TBH for the price I think it's pretty good VFM . I've still got it in my system and it sounds excellent between my Croft amp and Tannoy 637 speakers :)

I've only tried the Van Damme HiFi 6mm and found it to be a bit too bassy for my tastes . I've changed my amp since then and will probably try the 4mm you're using .

perhaps the 4mm is the one to go for then, before the van damme i used _ _ _ (fill in the gaps) ls5,that was very good but due moving my gear it wasn't long enough, the van damme didnt leave me wanting.
