Avondale MB1-S monoblock amps for sale.
As far as i am aware there were only 4 of these built. They are very special amps indeed. Built by Les, they are based around NCC200 amp modules and
M cap 6 power supply module. Each amp has a 750 VA transformer
The cases are in excellent condition.
Performance wise they sound sublime. I also have a pair of 130Z amps and they have a similar house sound to them but the MB1,s take that sound to another level entirely. They have a silky smooth tonality but vice like grip on bass with superb timing. The sound is projected well outside of the soundstage which the 130s can manage. In short they sound effortless and will handle speakers which are normally difficult loads. I haven't compared them against voyagers but i would imagine they compare very favourably against them. I normally use them with a Grad 1 and Shahinian Arcs
This is a very reluctant sale for me and an audition is recommended. I can dem them against a pair of 130Z's to give you an idea of what they are capable of.
