I popped out this afternoon, on foot, to pick up a couple of items. On my way back, about 400 yards from home, I noticed it was getting a bit dark. A few snowflakes started to blow around .....

Then, suddenly, within a minute there was a full blown blizzard blowing in my face. I was walking into the snow and the front of me was covered in snow; I must have looked like a snowman. When I got home, the direction of the wind was such that in getting through the front door the snow blew into the hall. By the time I had dusted off the snow and dried myself, I looked out the widow and the snow had stopped. Just my luck!

The snow has settled and remains still.

I for one have seen enough of the poxy stuff, it just makes work a nightmare when you have to be outside in it for days on end, we spent 4 days shoveling and barrowing it clearing coucil car parks last month, i know we got paid but we could of done something more contructive with the time, nobody pays me to stay at home and look out of the window at it, the joys of being self employed.

I was being ironic in my choice of title. My sense of wonder was more a sense of surprise, in that weather conditions can change so quickly and by so much. I did not say I enjoyed the phenomenon, and I do sympathise with those who have to work outdoors.

I am fortunate that I have be able to retire early, but I would have posted the same had I still been at work and had come back during the lunch break.
