Difficult to say, as I am not fully familiar with all the equipment. The room did not seem to have much finesse, in fact was quite edgey. My Q Acoustics 3050 give a far better sound.

I was hoping for more, as I remember Yamaha equipment with floor standing Mission loudspeakers in the early 1990s having a more natural presentation.

Yes, a great design, particularly the ports. Also a nice size and proportions.
