I know this is a long shot, and I'm rather desperate but does anyone have an SH-151 headshell, as fitted to the following TT's:

Sony PS-FL1
Sony PS-FL3
Sony PS-FL5
Sony PS-LX2
Sony PS-LX3
Sony PS-LX4
Sony PS-LX5
Sony PS-LX7
Sony PS-LX22
Sony PS-LX33
Sony PS-T22
Sony PS-T33
Sony PS-X45
Sony PS-X55
Sony PS-X500
Sony PS-X600

Or, does anyone have one of these TT's with a headshell for spares/repair ?

Thanks Barry - I did see that, I was hoping to get something a bit closer though, but I'll use that as a last resort. Real pity that the PS-X600 that I picked up has the integrated shell/cart, so I cant cart swap and am limited to the generic replacement stylus.

I acquired a PS-x600 earlier this year so did a bit of research in case I want to get another headshell for what are very nice decks. There are 2 that should be compatible either the aluminium SH-151, or the plastic SH-94. Out of the decks you list some may have come with the SH-94.

I do see some of the listed decks come up quite cheap on ebay but I don't want a second badly enough to go down the spares and repair route though that may be cheaper than importing from turntableneedles.

Thanks Clive - I'll keep my eyes peeled. I am hoping to have the Sony fettled in time for Harrogate, so I'm exploring all avenues.

I have a complete PS-T33 with headshell and original cartridge.
It runs but speed wasn't stable last time I tried it. Lid is scratched but otherwise looks ok.
£30 if you come and collect (Bicester).

Thanks Geoff - is it the headsshell that allows cart swopping (like the picture above)

Yes - looks exactly the same.

Hope you get fixed up - coincidence, I recently bought a PS-X600 and have this day travelled up to Bradford to collect a faulty PS-T33 for the same reason. Now listening to an ADC XLM fitted in it.

Nice one Dave - yes I think I'm sorted, just need to make arrangements. Do you mind if I ask what you paid for your PS-X600?

£125 without cartridge. No idea whether that is good or not (they were £180 new but that was back in '81). It is has some scratches and could do with a service - takes a few seconds to get speed stable from startup, which is shouldn't. The Biotracer arm - which is the reason I wanted to try it - seems OK. Not sure whether I will keep it or not, very convenient to use and sounds quite nice but I'm still swapping cartridges. How are you getting on with yours, and what cart are you using?

Got mine for £200 with a DL-160 cartridge that is of uncertain age so now replaced with an AT-F7 that is working well for me. Overall condition was pretty good but with a minor issue with the RCA lead which must be kept horizontal where it exits the deck otherwise it hums. Seen them go for between £100 to £300. I was intrigued by the biotracer and wanted to try one of the DDs that feature on the Vintage Knob. Really like the deck which gives my LP12 (same cartridge) a close run.

Picked up a second head shell at the Audiojumble on Sunday for £10.

I picked mine up at a CaBoot for....£8. The seller initially asked for a tenner, but before I could even respond she dropped it to £8 :D

Some muppet has sprayed the lid black  and the stylus was shot - but what I heard/saw in the 5 mins I got it playing before the stylus finally gave up the ghost really impressed me. Only problem is the integrated headshell/cart. I've got a spare VMS20E but I can't use it :steam:

If you can get it working properly then that counts as a score

Hi Barry - are you still looking for the headshell, if so I've got one I don't really need. PM me if you're interested :)
