Potential Miyajima customers can be forgiven for chasing what appear to be bargains, where certain eBay sellers in the Far East are selling ‘new’ Miyajima cartridges at an enticingly low price. First point to note, the Shilabe cartridge currently being listed on eBay is not actually new – it may be unused but it is in fact 9 years old. Second point – Mr Miyajima offers a superb and comprehensive worldwide 2 year warranty against manufacturing defects, but that warranty is only valid through an authorised Miyajima distributor, and specifically the supplying national distributor. So, a cartridge like the one currently offered on eBay is, at best, not to the same specification as a new cartridge from an authorised dealer, and Miyajima will not service or repair it if it turns out to be faulty. So, buyer beware!
Miyajima’s authorised international distributors are listed here http://miyajima-lab.com/e-torihiki.html . Authorised UK Miyajima dealers are listed here http://miyajima-lab.co.uk

Anyone in the UK who is interested in hearing a Miyajima cartridge or step up transformer can take advantage of our home loan scheme – see details and terms at https://ammonite-audio.co.uk/miyajima-cartridge-home-loan-scheme/ . We will always do our best to match anyone else’s price, so you might just find out that a ‘bargain’ from the Far East, once Import Duty and VAT and handling charge have been levied by HMRC, turns out to be more expensive than a brand new, genuine UK-supplied, and fully warrantied cartridge. Just call or e-mail.
