View Full Version : NWA DH1 no 0002 for sale
OK I know that in the future I am really going to regret this but in the interests of simplifying my life/systems I am selling my DH1 cartridge.
Anyone who knows the name of this knows just how good it is and worth all of the £5000 it costs. This one has been used sparingly in first a NWA SME 3012 then a DV 507 II for about 120 to 150 hours.
I would love to get as close to £3000 as I can for this but please make me an offer - you never know.

Does it only have three terminal pins, or is it just the angle of the photograph?
Just the angle, there are definitely 4 pins

I'm intrigued... Tried finding specs but nothing... Any idea?
THink Marco did a review on one once but was a while ago.

Yes he was glowing about it.
I'm in the market for a second cart and have been offered another Allaerts higher up the chain at a very good price - hence my interest in this.....
Not sure there are any published specs, the tracking weight is about 2.25g and the output is in the region of 0.25 mV. It is handmade by Dominik at NWA who might be amenable to a chat if you rang him, not sure he will talk to me again if he finds out though 😟

If this is the same unit that was used at the Huddersfield Bakeoff, it was fantastic.

I'm a bit of a spec freak with carts - channel balance and separation - will get in touch with Dom.
Not the same, not sure what Dave had there, think that was the DH1's little brother the DH3 but I know Dave has a DH1 as well.

Morning Tom, I believe that Dom at NWA designed and built this to be a perfect match with his modified SME 3012 arm. I have heard this combo many times at Nick’s and I now own the arm Nick used it on, unfortunately, I can’t justify the cost at the moment otherwise I would have the cartridge here. May be worth giving Dominic at NWA a call for more details on the cartridge.

It’s an interesting design with the armature exposed like that. Pretty much every other cart I can think of has a pole in front of the armature to help focus the magnetic field evenly.
Hmm.... I see the VdH Condor doesn’t either:

Sorry I have no idea, all I know is it works well with an SME 3012, I think Dom would be the only one who knows.
PM me by all means.
Nick
