Thought i share my opinion about ns 1000.
I got mine for £50 from play.com less than two weeks ago. Now with over 50hrs playing time.
These are noise cancelling headphones. I can only compare them to sr80i.Its somewhat difficult to describe what you hear but i will give a go.
Soundstage is quite good and detailed but not as wide as grados.
Midrange seems full, treble is nice but it changes if you use noise cancelling option to the bright side. Bass is nice and detailed but not overpowering. ns 1000 are good for wide range of music.
Headphones are nice and comfy even after three hours plus listening.
In comparison to grados goldrings sound flatter, less revealing. There is some noticable sound leak.I prefer to use them with ns off.
For the price cant really complain but if i had paid rrp it would have been dissapointng. All in all quite good, better than most in this price range.

Mine are still running in, bought specifically because they were a) mega cheap and b) specifically for noise cancelling ability. I'll post my thought in a day or two, but initial feeling is my SR60's are safe from ebay...
