This is a cool application I just downloaded onto my Googlephone.You can adjust the frequency via a slide control.If this thing is accurate,then I can still hear up to 17k,which is not bad for a 41 yr old! I guess you could find this or something similar for any smartphone.Give it a go and post your results.It would be interesting to see the results of high frequency loss versus age. :)

I had to stop hanging around the local shopping centre when they implemented one of those mosquito (http://www.compoundsecurity.co.uk/anti-loitering-equipment) devices so my ears must be top quality!

PS. I particularly love the 'mosquito multi-age' - who says civil liberties aren't under attack in modern Britain?!

The 'multi-age' one comes in at 8khz. Pretty drastic stuff. Though I remember reading that the Yanks tried playing Bowie and Queen ('Under Pressure' lol) when they were trying to flush out combatants during the invasion of Granada in 1983... a similar principle.

Just had another go,and if I hold the phone speaker right up to my ear,I can hear 17.6k.That's the limit though.
