hi, i was playing with my system and had the caiman running using the supplied psu, it seemed a little edgy when playing usb files.

I then substituted the battery power (ankara) and the edginess seemed to disappear and usb digital became listenable to with pleasure and although i prefer vinyl, much of my music is only available in digital form.

I am wondering whether this is a figment of my imagination (a day passed between using the psu and substituting the battery) or if this is a recognized phenomena - fyi the laptop source is battery and has always been so.

Hello David, I have found using a battery less fatiguing in conjunction with a Caiman 2 and a Capella [HPA] where the DAC is receiving data from laptop, but, just to complicate things, when using a CD transport into the same combination I prefer a linear mains supply because the mellowness of the battery seems to disappear.
