They don't come much rarer than this!
Produced in 1973 and Pioneers top of the range japan only model, costing at the time a whopping 83,000 yen (i'll let you do the price conversion).
I would guess this is the only working one in the country.
Veneered in Rio Rosewood which has taken on a lovely mellow colour this direct drive looks and sounds quality!

The turntable is in extremely good condition and comes with original lid which has a large break to the side, its a clean break and will glue back fine,i didn't use it with the lid so it never bothered me.
Being a japan only model it comes with an airlink step down transformer.
The armboard is panzerholz and is drilled for a linn mount,ie 211mm mounting distance,i still have the original armboard as well.

It has recently been serviced and has been given a clean bill of heath.
This is a very reluctant sale,i may change my mind.
In an email converstion with hifido in japan the guy i spoke to said he'd worked there 30 yrs and never seen one!

With that in mind the price is £800.

A thing of beauty, Jamie.

I've dealt with Jamie a few times and he's true to his word.

I'd have snapped it up if I hadn't agreed to buy a Techie SP10 MK2. Oooopps, that's supposed to be a secret [emoji23]

That should be nice. It'll have to go some to better the SR-370 though. :)

So... been meaning to report on how this turned out with the Mission 774 arm... it’s sounding absolutely wonderful, although I think we got into the same alignment headaches you had had before when you had a 774... will add something on the other thread...

Quick question though... did you have any issues with the speed @45rpm? It’s perfect at 33, but on 45 the deck doesn’t seem to be able to keep an even speed (either on strobe or by ear).

Don’t suppose the guy mentioned anything when you had it serviced?
