View Full Version : Wanted: MiniDSP DDRC-22D Dirac Live

I'd like to explore the use of Dirac with my system, but would like to keep it all in the digital domain and don't want to go down the computer and trial software route.

So, does anyone have a MiniDSP DDRC-22D that is gathering dust? Would be great if you also have the UMIK-1 mic needed for set-up!

Thanks very much.

Cheers. Bill

I would imagine they are a pretty niche item - I think you're not going to have much luck.

For a lot less, you know you can buy the 2x4HD and a Dirac plugin? You can get the 2x4HD for €250 from oaudio (Germany) and the plugin downloaded from MiniDSP for $250. So just over £400 - that is less than I think you will get a 22D for.

OK, it doesn't do digital out, but it does do digital in. What loss is onboard D/A conversion when you're messing with the signal as much as Dirac..? You will certainly get enough of a flavour without worrying about the finer points of D/A, in my opinion.

Hi Jonathan

From the little response so far you're probably right about the availability of a second-hand DDRC-22D, but I'm still hopeful as I'd like to see how my current kit (inc DAC) sounds with Dirac added.

You may well be right about the 'irrelevance' of the change to an onboard Minidsp DAC, but I'm not in any great rush!
