Has anyone used Copydex for speaker repairs?

I just bought some, it was probably well known years ago but not so much in recent years. I always thought it was some sort of tipp ex writing/copying chemical! Anyway, its water based and forms a flexible rubber-like area. I thought it might be useful for repairing speaker rubber tears.

Copydex can work and I have used it for some repairs. But generally, I find silicone sealant better for mending rubber tears and it comes in black. It's cheap and can be bought in small tubes which are perfect for smaller jobs.

Yes I have used it - even repaired a spider on a drive unit many years ago which worked as a permanent repair, once it has set it is extremely durable. Also use it to glue repair denim patches on jeans, does not come off again despite multiple washes. Always have a pot in my glue armoury. It also sets pretty quick.

We used to use Copydex and Kleenex to repair 15 and 18 inch bass drivers in the big bass bins, worked a treat until the inevitable recone.

Well although my vintage speaker restoration days are over in theory it's good to know about this great little bottle of glue.
