View Full Version : stuck for a tool?

these are great help
Some of them are pretty obvious - but I love the improvised cable sheath cutter, the meat tenderiser and the tile grout cleaner.
On the last item, a nut should have been fitted to the bolt beyond the point where it is about to be cut, so that the thread can be reformed after cutting.
Good call Grant! :)

Yes its always nice to find an improvised solution but I try and have the right tools in. For most of my general jobs I do I dont need expensive tools. I have a lovely vintage tray toolbox with lined drawers and I try and keep my tools organised
I once spent ages filing the down the prongs of circlip pliers to fit a dual bearing locknut. In reality I found I could have nipped it off with insulation tape protection and mini pliers
Oh and the rubber band trick hardly ever works if the head is badly stuffed..oh and plasic pencil sharpeners flex so treat yourself to a nice metal one :)
