Original SME 3009 tonearm cable - a query!

Can anyone tell me if SME used tinner copper in these tonearm cables back in the day?

I have what's left of one, with six inch tails - I've been meaning to re-wire the old four pin plug with new cable before using my SME but haven't got round to it. I've just dug it out and it's plain copper and despite the nearly 50 year old wires, the copper looks well preserved and stripped back fresh and clean, if that's any help.
