Although registered since a couple of weeks it's now time to say hello to all!
Found the way to AOS by searching info about the caiman - an found plenty of it here (beside other interesting topics as I found out ...).
-
Just moved from a Creek CDP to a SB as digital source and really like it (easy to find this album and oh, there are radio stations too ..!). Now will take the next step by getting an caiman. Hope I can upgrade the amplification too (which is not that easy as it has to beat this great Exposure integrated amp I own). Still hunting for Exposure Mono XIII or Mono XVIII amps, so if you have a spare pair standing around ... ;-)
-
Hope we all have a good and informative time here!

Regards!

Welcome Paul.

I see you're a Squeezebox user too - I've had mine for a few years now, and it is one of the best pieces of kit I have bought.
I run mine into a Caiman, so I don't think you'll be disappointed when you get your DAC.

Enjoy the forum.

Chris:)

Welcome to AoS Paul.

Cologne is one of my favourite German cities.

What sort of music do you like listening to?

Enjoy the forum.

Hi Chris,

I got my SB about 3 months ago. I started this experiment while searching to find a tuner for DAB, which i not easy to find. So I thougt I could try webradio using the SB. At this time I didn't think that it is possible to 'seriously' listen to a (ripped) CD. But I found out very fast that it is really fun to litsen to your music collection with this little box. And I no longer have to search for a CD for hours ...

Berry, nice to hear you like cologne! I like it too ;-) Drop me a line if you'r around ...
I listen to a wide range of music. To use some categories: 'post-rock' stuff (SigurRos, Efterklang, ...), Electronica (Boards of Canada, other Warp stuff ... ), some trio-jazz, a lot of ECM-records and sometimes classic music ('old' -> Bach and 'modern/minimal' -> Glass, Reich, ...). You see, no specific direction ...

Cheers

Hello Paul,

Sorry about that. I should of course have said Köln, however 'cologne' (sic) is how your address is written. Perhaps the Moderators can change it for you if you wish.

Jazz trio, ECM, Bach, Glass , Reich .... no problems there.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to AOS!

I love Cologne and know it quite well. My wife has family there who live near the university, and this is our favourite place below for a few Früh Kölsch and some Gulaschsuppe!

I've also climbed right to the top of the Dom cathedral - what a view there is on top, and you have to be pretty fit to get up there!!

Anyway, enjoy AOS - I look forward to reading your posts :)

Marco.
