We have been modifying the Oppo BDP-83 for some months now and have expanded the range of options for upgrades. The 3 most popular set-ups for use are as follows;
1) CD transport and Blu-ray player where the BDP-83 is connected to an external DAC and also used via the HDMI for Blu-ray movies. The mods for this set-up upgrade the power supply, clock, with the option of adding an improved digital output, clock PSU, etc.
2) CD/SACD Player 2-channel and Blu-ray player where the BDP-83 is used for 2-channel CD/SACD as well as via the HDMI for Blu-ray movies. The mods for this set-up upgrade the power supply, clock, audio board for 2-channel, with the option of adding clock PSU, etc.
3) Blu-ray player only via the HDMI output. The mods for this set-up upgrade the power supply, clock, with the option of adding additional Bybee Slipstream Purifiers, etc.
