£350 is a funny price point for used MC's. It might get you a ZYX R50 Bloom, but those are rare. For a bit less there's the Denon DL-103R, which is decent enough, but the Eroica is better (and has full UK back-up). The better Audio Technicas are a possibilty, but not my cup of tea really.

Hi cageyh he's had a look at the Hana carts and likes what he reads only problem I've just double checked with him and unfortunately 350 is his limit I though he could stretch to 400 but I was wrong oh well you can't win them all

£350 new gets you some very nice MM cartridges that in general are better than a cheap MC. On a Rega I would go with a Goldring 1042 or Audio Note IQ2, ton of synergy with the arm, and the cartridge would not be your bottleneck by any stretch.
If you must have an MC, on a Rega the obvious Denon 103R won't work that well as it needs a heavier arm, so Ortofon Quintet Blue would be my choice.
Used is a different ball game but you have to buy very carefully, you might for instance get a Shelter 501 or an Ortofon Kontrapunkt, but who knows how much life left in it? But a really good score if you can find one from a trusted source.
I personally would be inclined on this budget to stick with MM. I've been playing a lot with vintage MM catridges lately, some of them picked up for peanuts, and I'm more and more convinced that the turntable and arm (and phono stage) are well above cartridges in the pecking order of importance, and arm-cartridge matching also matters far more than MC vs MM. Make 100% sure you get something that suits your setup rather than focusing on what kind of generator it has inside..
