If they were still there when the 20+ other delivery mopeds came to the rescue I reckon it would have!;)

Nothing less than a life sentence for this IMHO. It's not like the victims were aver going to "get better" after this....

I've signed the petition, but acid is not the only easily obtainable aggressive liquid that can be used as a weapon.

There is bleach, caustic soda, ammonia - all of which are household items used as cleaners and drain clearers; as is sulphuric acid. Are these now to be sold to licence holders only?

I would like to see all such items made impossible to buy on-line, and only obtainable from a specialist store, in person, where a record is kept of the identity of the purchaser; in the same manner as one would have to sign the poison book at the chemist when purchasing say, rat poison.

You don't have to sign anything to buy rat poison. I recently bought several Kilos of it from a supplier on the www.

Barry was thinking of the 1950s. After the chemist he would pop into the chandlers for some sealing wax. Then a quick visit to the ironmongers for a mop and pail.

Best solution for rats is cats. Big ones that are a bit eggy, ideally. The rats will soon get used to the poison, just like we do with Tabasco sauce.

I can remember when chemists dispensed prescriptions that were wrapped in paper and sealed with sealing wax.

Anyway my remark about the poison book, was to suggest that something similar should be used when one buys corrosive or hazardous liquids such as acids, alkalis or organic solvents, and payment can only made by card so the purchaser can be traced if need be.
