Well it's about time I introduced myself seeing as I'm lurking around here pretty often. My set up is nothing fancy - I've had it for 10 years or so and I'm pretty happy with it.

Front end is a Technics 1200 which I bought a year ago. I changed the headshell for a Sumiko and installed a Denon DL160. Excellent! This replaced my ProJect Debut which was fine as far as it went but I really wanted a direct drive TT that I could upgrade when funds allowed.

This goes into a Trichord Dino with its PS.

Amplification is Myryad MI 120 Integrated Amplifier, Myryad MA 120 Power Amp

CD player is a Myryad MC 100

As you can see I took the easy option and just bought a job lot :).

Speakers are Monitor Audio Silver 7s

Happy for now but a Timestep Power Supply will be in the pipeline eventually.

Welcome. I've long forgotten the Welsh my Mother taught me I'm afraid.......

Myryad was and possibly still is a great firm and the 120 amp and add-on power amp will suit any good speaker out there. Can't comment about metal cone speakers though - I've had enough of their compromises to last a lifetime and now hide in the warm glow of a BBC inspired doped bextrene cone....;)

Have you done the feet and mat on the Techie yet?

This add-on may not be as good as the Dino, but try to get a NOS phono stage for the amp. It's easy to fit and even if you don't, it may help a future sale should you be able to take the huge jump necessary if you want something "better..." and it will be a huge monetary jump IMO.

Ha Ha - I should have said I go by the name of Simon - vintage 1961 so there are many of us out there.

DSJR - no new mat or feet yet but I'll jump for for them soon. I'm all for getting the most out of the Techie as I can - I must admit that sometimes I get taken aback at how good it sounds.

Interesting thoughts about the phono stage - I thought about it at the time but I was too tempted by the reviews of the Dino being upgradable. I must admit I don't think I'll be changing my amp soon - I've just had my tax bill from my accountant :doh:

Oh yes - music. Well I love my vinyl and my most recent spins have been Jazz - Coltrane, Paul Horn, Shelley Manne ( find Gambit on Contemporary - beautifully recorded ) a bit of Brazil - Joyce, Caetano Veloso and what I really love the productions of Charles Stepney and David Axelrod - 'Mother Nature's Son and 'Songs Of Innocence' being two of my favourites. Oh and Ennio Morricone. Lovely ;)

I'm a half breed, with physical roots firmly in West Herts and my soul deeply rooted in the Clwyd Valley somewhere between Ruthin & Denbigh - 300 years in each direction. No wonder I don't know me a*se from me elbow - now living in Suffolk too!
