Here you are - 28 pages of pictures showing Squeezeboxes in use. These may not be to everyone's liking, but there is a lot of eye candy on the side.

Are you tempted by the Touch Brian?

If I were to decide I needed another Squeezebox, it might as well be a touch.

It will handle 24/96 but I have few such files and SB3 will lay them at 24/48 -will I hear the difference. I doubt it.

The Touch may have a DAC good enough to dispense with an external DAC, but if I need more than one digital source - TV and PVR - I need something like a Standac for switching.

If I wanted a single source system in another room a Touch driving http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/ContentDetail/ModelSeriesDetail.html?CNTID=49338&CTID=560744

might be a good deal.

That's my present analysis.

And yours?

Well the beta testers all say that S/PDIF is far higher quality than the Classic and its for this reason I will probably get one.

I am familiar with Squeezebox in name only. Is it an Audio only box? I run an Apple TV and although this might not appeal to everyone I do enjoy having the menus available to me on my HDTV and also the option to have a slideshow of all my album cover artwork showing while music is playing. Additionally, and of very secondary interest to me, is the ability to download HD movies from iTunes. I know with recent HDTVs and Blu Ray players downloading of movies is available via those devices.

Its audio only Mike, but with it you can output bit perfect uncompressed FLAC files from a PC (or Mac) server to a Dac for great audio quality -and i'm talking best quality redbook CD quality.

Would be a great companion for your Apple Tv handling the video side of things.
