About a dozen years ago I had time on my hands and figured I'd check out what was happening online with my hobby I've maintained more or less since so was 11, meanwhile age 64. I found that all the 'original' monikers I came up with were taken so I asked myself, "What singles me out?," and my answer, "I hate HiFi but love music." I spent my teens in Miami and my home 'sang' with my father's LPs (e.g., Bert Kaempfert to Nat King Cole), so I literally grew up with music around me. There was hardly a concert in Miami which I didn't see, incl. the (sheit) Doors' at Coconut Grove, 3x Janis, twice with Johnny Winter as guest, Ft. Lauderdale and Palm Beach; even was at the Last Night at the Filmore East. Lest I forget, John Mayall and Eric Burdon were often in town, heard each a dozen times. And I have keen memory for sounds, like major recall of the live musicians in Bayfront Park, Richie Havens 'unplugged' jamming, but hundreds of unsung musicians keeping warm in winter playing, "...real good for free," (Joni Mitchell).

And in order to recreate the enjoyment at home and spent a wad over the decades, much of my kit meanwhile collectibles. Why did I ever sell my Cotter, etc., etc.?! Hahaha.

I spend most of my posts and time at that other forum for Lenco fans (have Sony and Roksan tts). See many here from there, and joined to access your comments about the SUT Mayware T-24 I just purchased.

Anyway, good to be here and greetings, or something like that!

Cheers!

Hello John. Welcome to AOS.

Tell us what equipment you have in your system and if you are planning any changes.

The Mayware is an SUT I've not personally tried, but I gather it has its fans. Try starting a thread in the Analogue Arts or Past Masters sections and ask any questions you may have. I'm sure you'll get some opinions.

There's plenty going on here, so take a look around and join in the chat.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Welcome to AoS John.

Nice introduction, but sorry to learn you didn't like the Doors. Still I understand that Jim Morrison could be temperamental at times.

Even so, you saw some great acts; I'm quite envious!
