Welcome Dan. I'd really like to see some pictures of your kit. And your impressions of your Rogers speakers. I'm attracted to the old BBC speaker designs and I know the LS7's are from the same stable, albeit later.

I say Welcome. You've got 14 posts under your belt already so hardly a newbie! Hope you enjoy yourself here!

The LS7's by now should be just about run in after 25 years. keep these as they'll just get better and better and better........

WHEN NEW, the LS7T could strip paint it was so tinny. I heard a pair of T's many years later and, like many metal dome tweets when thoroughly run/thrashed to death (!) they were quite sweet toned, if a little lively still.

I suspect the QED SA is lightening the bass, but it really is a cr@p cable and disliked by many who've bothered to compare with other cables. many Sevanoaks shops sold kilometers of the stuff to AV system enthusiasts, together with the bell wire that is QED Micro. All this research into high-current cables ruined at a stroke by box-shifters who often didn't care or just wanted an easy sale to WTF readers...

Look at the Belden and Van-Damme options on the Mark Grant site and PLEASE give them a try. The 4mm and 6mm Van-Damme wires are great too. Forget silver-plated wire. It's as bright and shiny as it looks when stripped back IMO..

Carnival was much better to my ears and the Cable Talk 4.1 and Excel 4 had a hugely better dynamic range - loud bits louder and quiet bits quieter...

K20 is a bit bland for some reason, but live with it for a while and you should find the SA rather spattery and with little in the way of dynamic contrasts..

SA? like i said i have put the chord carnival back on sounds good for my likeing. My rega sounds Brill with the bias.
