RAM returns!!!!!!

Check out the new range of RAM speakers - courtesy of Falcon. It's 35 years since RAM produced thrir last speaker! Also, Falcon are reintroducing the JR149 - no doubt because they now manufacture the B110 and T27. Will be very interesting to hear what both ranges sound like. I wonder if Vince Jennings (the original genius designer behind RAM had anything to do with the new RAM models)?

Rather ironic, as RAM built the BBC LS3/5a
Guess which company supplied the crossovers for them ?

Was it Falcon Acoustics, who now supply the only genuine BBC LS3/5a ?

Even more ironic is the fact that Falcon supplied the crossovers for the complete RAM range - not just the LS3/5a. Falcon were located in a small village called Mulbarton just outside Norwich at that time and RAM, of course, were in Norwich.

To this day, I've always lusted over the very first models RAM commercially produced, namely the RAM 1 particularly the original version with the Isophon tweeter. They walked all over the later range 100, 150 and 200. Apair came up on Ebay a couple of months ago although it was not apparent whether they were the earlier Isophon or later Audax tweeter version. What was apparent was that the cabinets were in VGC and the seller stated they were in GWO. BIN price only £60. If I still lived in the UK, I would have snapped those up.

Hmm. Although I've not owned any. I was never attracted to RAM speakers. I felt much the same way about the rather similar Audiomaster speakers too. Much down to the choice of drive units I think.

I have a pair and they compare very well with my Spendor BC1s .
