Considering a one day audio meet in Chester. Likely to be Saturday 26th July or any Saturday in August. To be arranged.

Not expecting large numbers a la Owston ( i think we managed seven last time). But that was in the days of the World Audio Design forum and there were very few members from round here.

Things seem to have changed a bit, so hoping for ten to fifteen this time.

So what i would like, is an idea of numbers. ie. those who live close enough to attend a one day event, and indeed would like to, bearing in mind the dates above.
A similar post will appear on two other relevant forums.

Hi Al,

Nice one. You can count me in, and I think Ian Walker will probably come with me. Ian Kay, might also be interested and I could probably get some other guys, too :smoking:

That would be good Marco.
I'll wait till i've got some more definite replies, and then see if we can find a date that suits everyone.
It's early days yet.

No worries, Al. If you need any help organising or setting things up just ket me know :smoking:

Do you know Dave Anderton? He lives in Chester and I'm sure he would be interested in coming. Either Ian Walker or I could ask him.

I knew there had to be more than two of us in Chester.:)

Does that mean you would be up for a day of socialising in July /August.?
Can i put you down as "a possible"

Chester is about 40 minutes away for me. Put me down as a possible if you please :)

Chris

Would love to. I'll bring some vinyl? Or CD? Don't think I'd be able to wrestle the Argon2 speakers out of the flat, but I'll try :P

I booked a room at the local community centre for Saturday 23rd August.

http://www.caldyvalleychurch.org.uk/centre_info.htm

No pub attached to this venue, but there is one three minutes walk away if anyone gets desperate.

There is ample parking and access is pretty good.

The room is 36'x30' and is not carpetted, so it may result in a lively sound. Bring yer own rug.:)

Tea and coffee making facilities and food in the form of sandwiches will be laid on.
Expected cost per head is likely to be around £7-8, depending on numbers attending. So far we have 17 persons expressing an interest. Might have to restrict numbers to around 20.

I hope that the lower attendance (when compared to Owston) will lend itself to listening to individual components rather than just entire systems. Which we could do as well if time allows.

I'll be asking those who wish to turn up to confirm nearer the day.

Looking forward.

Chester? That's way Oop North? Damn, probably too far for me, based as I am in West Gloucestershire.

Marco

Yep. "Oop North" not far from Manchester. Heard of there? You know where the big football team plays? ;)

Get in the car and drive up ya lazy fecker! Or in the current fuel climate, cycle :lolsign:
