Wanted - LIVING VOICE OBX or IBX RW speakers

Maybe a tad hopeful of getting RW3's so any version in the RW range sought.

Being a bit particular I know but I don't really want the very dark finishes like Ebony or Santos Rosewood.

Thanks Lawrence but I'm pretty certain that if Emporium Hifi were selling a pair of RW's then we'd know about it & they certainly wouldn't be £2k.

There are these in London ( see link below) I have actually asked the owner if I could buy the Hitachi cables but said he did not want to sell the cables without selling the speakers, if your not interested in the cables then please mention my name re the cables, other than that hope this helps and good luck.

They're R2s I already suggested a pair by mistake. Also seem quite pricy, they are the right price for RWs!

Hi Lawrence, the model you posted was emporiums' original OBX-R's for £2k. The ones that p147 posted are OBX-R2's are £2.2k which is probably about right.
The cheapest OBX-RW's I've seen were an unbelievably low £3.5k on Wigwam over a year ago. The new owner recently had them up for sale for about a grand more!

Keep your eyes open though guys, much appreciated.

A good friend has a pair, they are similar sounding but more revealing and less fussy about placement.

Work well with a mix of valve amps (8-25W), emporium have had them a while...in my opinion would be worth a listen...

Thanks for the input Mike. My only concern is that this may lead to auditioning loads of speakers....again.
I've just demo' some Horns Mummy which were initially brilliant but after further listening, not for my room. Made me realise that unless I'm going to spend a good week with a speaker then I'm probably better off sticking with a brand that I've enjoyed for 20 years. Yep, sad. Having said that, I'm intrigued about Odeon speakers ... Especially the Midas model.

I had the OBXR and Kevin said he could upgrade them to RW's for a nominal amount, these are priced on the high side as I would probably only pay £2k max for IBX's

I have contacted Kevin @ Definitive about upgrading my R2's to RW level but the cost wasn't exactly nominal.

Fourlegs was kind enough to offer me those before going up for sale.
Unfortunately and probably unbelievably for some I don't really like the Santos Rosewood finish:sofa:
I know it's the sound that counts but £4K+ is a lot of money for something that bugs you to look at, and I'd be looking at them a lot for a long time.
I tried to convince myself but ultimately....
Like I said in the original post, I'm a plain taste sort of guy. Mind you, I love the Burr oak finish.

Morning folks, I'm still looking for a pair.

Just wanted to add that I have 2 sets of speakers that I'm quite happy to part ex, trade etc with cash going either way (probably one way :spew:) if someone wanted to try a different flavour.

They are;
Verity Audio - Rienzi. These are already advertised on here.
Avalon Acoustics - Ascendants. To be advertised soon, but I have details/photos now if you're interested.
Both are available as straight sales.

I've managed to get a pair of OBX-RW's. On first listening I'm absolutely made up, brilliant.
Its getting a bit tight for space round here so I've gotta sell some speakers or lose some weight.
