Any comments on Yamaha A-S701 ?

Seems to be a Marmite brand as far as amps go, very contradictory reviews. Does anyone have any comments on it please?
Listening tastes fairly varied jazz, female vocal, light rock, roots. Small room, Wharfedale Jade stand-mounts.

I have the as501, good no nonsense amp, doesn't draw attention to itself, just fit and forget and enjoy.perhaps not the most neutral but none the worse for it, edit, using mine with wharfedale diamond 10.1 at mo with good results

I too have a AS501....
nice and smooth with a slightly less stingy topend than the rival Marantz etc.

the builtin DAC is not much to write home about but good enough for a skybox, tv output etc

I recently upgraded with a smsl from the amazon (the site....not the river...arf) cheap but fab.
