I saw something on Facecrap which upset me, I hope to our Lord God it is not true.
You and you family have crashed into my life showing me love from strangers I never expected. Your courage and kindness struck hard into my mechanical heart which will always have the dents you all have left.
People like you are rare and I love you all my friend.
Now feeling sad wish I could fix it all but I am just a cheap technician not a angel.

Oh crap, he dented my mechanical heart and I will miss him, and kind friend I only knew for far to short a time, love to all the family. See you soon James Coltart I will miss you and only saw you two weeks ago, brave and so kind. xxxx Love Col and Maria

That is terrible news Colin, a loss for us all. He was a really good bloke.

All, he is talking about James, who posted as Sovereign.

Very sad news, I always enjoyed reading his often forthright, but always honest posts and enjoyed/shared much of his musical taste.

I feel really sad to read this, Sovereign posted honestly without pretence, he had an extremely generous spirit praising others on their audio and worldly achievements.

RIP James

Hugely upset by this news. I own his old Croft Pre-amp. It's now playing in his hounour. I'll be raising a glass of single malt. Great bloke.

His brother posted this on Facebook-

James didn't LOSE James was victorious in his efforts and his fight and his quest to make sure all around him were ok, happy and cared nothing for himself. I have listened to nothing but adoration from nurses, doctors and consultants who said they were honoured to have known James. He was a beacon wherever he went, especially into the hospitals and put a ray of sunlight into the hearts of all those who were privileged to come into contact with him. Including myself.

Even holding onto him through the night - he woke up at times not one care about himself - only was I ok and that he wanted to assure me that he was fine and that everything was going to be okay!

I have never heard so much praise about one person over the last few days as I have heard from some incredible people about James who I am so proud to call my brother!!

James did not LOSE ANYTHING, he changed the world in which he dwelled - which is s more than a lot of us can say - including myself.

James was a WINNER and let us all remember that !

Thank you.

Truly shocked and stunned to hear of James' passing. I had no idea he was even ill.... Undoubtedly we've lost one of the good guys from our hobby. Certainly AoS, and the other forums he frequented will be poorer places without his presence.

My thoughts and condolences go to all his family and friends. RIP, James :(

Bit shocked by this, I knew he had to go back for more treatment but never realised it was as bad as that, as he never let on.

being considerate to everyone, and a benchmark for us all to follow.

Sad beyond words at this, life really is too short.

it reverberates personally with me because James and I traded ideas on balanced mains kit yonks ago and only spoken with Him recently about speaker cable.
Traded forum posts too right back to Hifi Choice website (Pre Wigwam days)...long time to know someone without actually knowing someone.
My recent car trip was to Miadstone Kent, James' stomping ground and despite having thought about it (and dismissed it) I so wish now I'd got in touch to arrange a meet up.:(

Could have, should have, would have....lesson learned.

Also it brings home personal circumstances with my Dad, who's at that time.

RIP James,
