My cyrus and pmc system

Cyrus were selling them on their website, made by a guy named Simon little furniture. He has a website but still makes them and they are called tri arbour racks. I specced in an additional tier as the one cyrus used to sell only had 5 tiers.

But I'm not sure about it anymore as I really like the walnut podium racks made by hi fi racks. Also a bit more space for adding power conditioners, turntables , which I might do later. The racks they had at the Bristol hi fi show looked awesome.

It's some cheapish Yamaha classical guitar, but don't all guitars lookas if they are quite expensive!

I tried classical but I've short stumpy fingers, so it was difficult reaching frets etc, but I think I should try another style with it and learn with people. I need a new hobby I think.....

I want to go back to model aeroplane making if I had the space as I used to love doing this. It's so relaxing building them as a way to take your mind off stuff . A kind of mindfulness.

I have fond memories of some of the Cyrus gear I have owned over the years. Some very nice sounds.
Not heard your PMCs, but I was bowled over by some PMC Twenty26 at a show a few years ago!
I have to confess that I prefer my room to look a bit busier than that, though !!

Neat looking system Simon. Bet it sounds good too. Would agree with regards the Hi Fi Racks Podium or something like it. They can be pricey but would add more space to spread your components out a bit.
Still very nice however.

I've always found Cyrus gear to be interesting. Was using a 8VS2/PSX-R combo 2 months ago, which sounded pretty good actually! Kind of regretted selling them!!

Later this week, I'll be picking up a Cyrus CD7Q. Yes it's old, but still good according to some.

Addicted to the smell of burning castor oil though! Or any two stroke really, I know that plane had a four stroke engine but as its a total loss oil system still smells......mmm

From what I've heard people saying, the cyrus one is well ahead of its price and with its class d amplification, would probably be a match for the 8vs2/psxr.

Yes I like that smell too especially the burnt castor oil smell. I used os four strokes which were lovely engines. This 7 foot piper cub I built had an Os fs-70 but I've used petrol four strokes too.
Most models went to artf (almost ready to fly) designs a few years back, but I liked the satisfaction of something you've built flying. I've built these models on top of lots of artf models
- flair tiger moth
- flair puppeteer
- flair piper cub
- Chris Foss wot 4's , acrowots
- Goldberg super chipmunk
- various trainers

My favourite was my scale SE5a with a V twin four stroke, flying into the sunset at slow speed, you would almost believe it was a real one.

I like that about model flying especially on a very still summer evening. My tiger moth is still unfinished but it's huge. A 6 foot long fuselAge and 89 inch wingspan. Don't have the space to finish it, but it has been in my dads loft for ages.

I never got into that side of things, polystyrene kits was my childhood hobby and tanks and planes morphed into sci fi kits later on. Sadly my eyesight isn't up to the kind of super detailing I used to do so a fair few kits sit in the roofspace still boxed, un-built. Alas room, I don't have enough to display a small percentage of the built kits.

Last one worked on but not completed was a Republic star destroyer. I was super detailing it by adding all the windows that Revel couldn't be bothered putting in the mould. My eyesight was obviously not up to the task back then so I stopped and in its box it remains.

I might invest in a desk top magnifier and finish it, but nowhere to display it.

Model making is a fun past time and flying models fun, but they are even bigger and harder to store.
