Tsakiridis Aeolos Super Plus KT120 valve integrated amplifier

Made in Greece. Well known in Europe but not so much in the UK so represents a bargain for someone. See the links at the bottom which also gives more photos.

This version is the ‘Super Plus’ so while it then sports the KT120 valves, it comes stock out the factory with better output transformers, WBT output speaker posts and has the internal signal wires are by Van den Hul.

I upgraded the internal fuses to Hifi Tuning Silver Star types (for the believers) :)

I have the original box and manual plus remote. Box is in fairly good nic but the internal packaging is only 80% complete or I just don’t know how to pack it properly. It will be securely packaged up though.

Also comes with the original tube cage to prevent burnt fingers.

Due to weight and sensitive nature of the product, I’d prefer collection allowing one to hear the amp as well
Biasing is currently set up for my 8 ohm speaker load – you will need a mutimeter to set them differently if needed.
Runs 60w in class AB but can bias’d into class A (which I have never done). But the tubes won’t last very long in class A.

Comes with the stock TungSol KY120’s and ElectroHarmonix 12AT7’s (new issue valves) – not those seen in the photo.
£600 collected

to those who may want to dip their toes into a valve amp and do not know much about biasing, Robert would you explain perhaps this sentence a bit more ?

"Biasing is currently set up for my 8 ohm speaker load – you will need a mutimeter to set them differently if needed."

for 4 ohm speakers once its set up how often would you need to bias the amp and how ?

I didn't think biasing was a function of the speaker load, I thought it just depended on the electrical characteristics of the individual valves (and the amp itself obviously).

Thanks for pointing my booboo out. I always used the opportunity to re-bias when swapping speakers - done that too much in my life! Just good practice especially if one tube is pushing and the other pulling. Biasing changes the grid voltages to set the idle current of the output tubes.

For ease, this amp is 6 ohm tapped so only one set of speaker posts on hand for either 4 or 8 ohm loads (or 6).

New pictures showing rear of the amp as well as the top where the bias trim pots sit and multimeter is used (behind the KT120 valves). Easy and like most other valve amps.

Amp will be newly biased before sale and tubes marked up so can just be slotted in - plug and play.
