I used to have one of these, l bought better valves, Mullard l think and what a cracking little buffer. It was ok with standard tubes, but with Mullards it really shone, l paid about £30 for the 2 Mullards. I used it in a second system with a CD player that was a bit on the bright side, to put it mildly, and WOW! All the shrillness....gone.....all the detail was still there.....the bass improved as well. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if l was running a system with digitalis, bright, shrill sound.
