Tablet sales continue to fall.

I never took to them, but constantly use an ultra-portable laptop - it's actually an 11.5" Chromebook. I also have a 5.5" smartphone which I do use to check emails (but not answer them) and do use very happily to read newspapers.
My children initially took to their iPads, but now use them much less, preferring either their laptops or their large screen iPhones.
Is a 5.5" phone big enough to render a Tablet redundant for many or even most users, who will use one with a laptop in support?
