Alternative to TuneUp for naming FLAC files

Hi all

When I was using iTunes to play my media I used tuneUp to correct any misspelled music files and it worked fine, but now I have at last moved away from iTunes and moved away from MP3 to FLAC files Tuneup no longer works as it does not support FLAC

Anyone got any recomendations for a tuneup like program that supports FLAC.

Never used tuneUp but for renaming/changing metadata on files etc. I use Foobar 2000 - http://www.foobar2000.org/

Handles FLAC/WAV and probably many other formats (possibly) :)

It doesn't run on Linux...and given the OP was discussing iTunes. I presumed a non linux environment ;)

Asks perversely, Why Paul would want to use Tune Up when he already stated he doesn't want to use, as it does not support FLAC and had at last moved away from iTunes
but strangely interpreted as I gather "because it doesn't run on Linux ? " Asks What doesn't run on Linux ? Even I am having difficulty coming to grips with that type of logic.

as Linux will run an earlier version - I seem to remember doing this 10 years ago with success. But plenty of better alternatives are available
as well as the option of using VirtualBox if you cannot be divorced from iTunes.

Generally you can be pretty sure something is seriously amiss and dare I say naughty, when a program does not support Flac
and best to give it a miss. Well done Paul !

I was referring to 'perfecttunes' from dbpoweramp...

...as I believe it handles flac, but only runs on windows :eyebrows:

Picard is great, supports Windows and Mac (probably Linux too) and many file types including flac.

The part I love about Picard is it groups tracks into albums so they should then come up with the same metadata. It uses the MusicBrainz database which is community edited. They have strict style and moderation so tracks and artists are named correctly.

I use a few addons to tweak the defaults (I'm not at my computer but would be happy to list).
