So I've decided that these speakers do indeed need to find a new home, I had them up a few weeks go but withdrew them shortly after, however I think im happy with my new JBL's so here they are again. These lovely IPL S3 TML ribbons are up for sale.

Thanks to Lawrence001 on my previous thread who highlighted their original build thread from diyaudio http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi...etion-wow.html

Mine are complete with a matching filled base unit which raises them up further closer to ear level and makes them look more attractive I think. They are in very good condition with no major blemishes or knocks. The American Black Walnut veneer job has been done very well and they have matching removable cloth front covers.

Sound-wise they have a very rich textured bottom end and benefit from a very decent ribbon tweeter which gives then a lovely detailed top end, you can sit in front of these for hours without a hint of fatigue.

I've really enjoyed these speakers, they punch well above their price point - new models of these now go for about £1200 so grab yourself a bargain.

Given that id previously advertised them as the wrong (smaller cheaper model) Id actually like £350.00 collected from Liverpool please

Pictures as my previous ad but il put some more up tonight as I cant load photos from my work pc.

I can vouch for IPL speakers, especially the ribbon tweeter. Don't see me changing mine anytime soon. An absolute bargain at this price, probably half the cost of the components then countless hours of construction.

So many people have said the same to me Jerry, they are indeed a very very good pair of speakers. Il give it another week and if no joy I think il end up keeping them, (god knows where!) but better to keep hold of them than let them go at a (even more) silly price.

I've had these back in the system since Friday and very good thry are too. Heck of a lot of speaker for the money. On reflection and after a few weeks of living with the jbls they really do a lot of things well, the ribbon tweeter to my ears is far smoother sounding. I'd not be giving them up if space wasn't an issue tbh.

Happy to demo to anyone interested.

I'd be very interested in a trade / swop for a decent moving coil cartridge or a rega fit tonearm if that helps anyone ??

Could add a bit of cash from my end for something special maybe.

I've got a moth branded RB250, it doesn't have a counterweight (cheaply available or you could get an upgraded version) and a small bit of the end of the armlift where it curves round has come off in transit. Any interest in a PX? We would have to arrange an AoS taxi to the North London border.

When I say armlift I mean the finger lift just the tip at the end came off and wouldn't effect operation in any way. A gentle file and dab of black enamel paint would get it back to almost as before.

Some people remove the finger lift anyway, in order to reduce resonance. You will see quite a few Rega and Rega derived arms with this.

That's a helpful interesting fact thanks Geoff, if Ben isn't interested or we can't arrange the swap then I'll probably be listing it here, although I wonder if it would be an upgrade on my SME3009 (fixed headshell) on my RD11.

If anyone is driving from somewhere not too far from liverpool to north london (I'm near the m25) in the near future and is able to help with dropping these off to me, I'd be very grateful! Ben could meet somewhere that way with them if it helps. Thanks

Is there anywhere else this could be posted Lawrence just to get it noticed a bit more?

As you mentioned I'm happy to get the journey started from my end, a drop off 50 miles down the m6 should help hopefully.

Can anyone offer a full or partial AOS taxi service? Need to get these delivered from Liverpool to North London if possible? I can take them the first 50 miles (down M6 perhaps).

Anyone who can help will earn a few beers from me.

cheer
