Hi all

Had my Denon DL-110 High Output Moving Coil Cartridge for a few weeks now, been using my Amplifiers moving Magnet Phono input and was just wondering what would happen if I used it on the amps Moving Coil Input.

Other than being a bit louder and providing it does not distort due to over saturation would it do any harm

I did give it a quick go and other than it being quite a bit louder I could detect no distortion, will it be ok long term.

Thanks

Paul

It won't damage anything but yes you face a big probability of overload. Also HOMC's are designed to operate into 47K loading but it's likely that your MC input will be 100Ohms to 1K, unless it is switchable to 47K. Overall, no risk of harm but not a good idea.

OK thanks

Will keep it on MM and turn it up a bit, it's a big amp with loads in reserve
