Just for fun could you suggest a MC cartridge which is very tweakable?
My suggestion would be the Denon 103.

It does seem to be, whether its nuding, rebodying, rebuilding....

depends who's gonna tweak?
you can recoil koetsu black with silver windings, give it boron cantilever with microridge tip for example with softer damping, for example. you will get an incredibly capable music machine.
or if you have an alnico ortofon, like vintage SPU or SL 15, you can do the same treatment and you can go nude with it, basically removing most of the shell so it would look like a mad max lyra or so...

I once "nuded" a Dynavector 10X4, uh, that's all I've got. I'll get my coat now.

That'll do it though....

Grant, was the coat for yourself or the other "nuded" bit?
I would suggest any of the following:
Denon 103 (and its variants)
EMT 15
Linn Asak.
All of them can be 'nuded', have their coils re-wound, cantilevers replaced as well as the stylus profile changed. All at some expense of course.
