Well it’s great to be here. Favourite music is classical and I have a fairly modest rig but love what it does: LP12 (pre cirkus), Lingo 1, LVii, DL103, Avondaled 42/Zap250 into Spendor SP2 (original).

I also have a Beresford 7510 which I have been immensely impressed with. I found out about here by stumbling on the mod 21 thread. I just have to try this – right up my street i.e. reasonably nifty with a soldering iron but don’t really understand electronics!

I’m also hoping to bump into someone who really knows about these old SP2s. I bought my pair after living for many years with a pair of Kabers. I wish I’d done the change years ago tbh and am keen to keep and restore them. Awesome speakers imho.

Anyway, it’s great to be here and I look forward to meeting new folk and a good few mates from PFM.

Tbh I am glad to see a few more traditional flat eath system users here. The slagging off of elastic band decks etc was only tongue in cheek but a greater presence of Linn/Naim users is good for the flat earth and subjectivist ethos of this forum.
If you like music and your hi-fi because it sounds involving and enjoyable to listen to you're in the right place.
The end result is unimportant (in terms of kit you use) but the methodology is everything.

I'm not but bizarrely I know him quite well. I used to work at the BBC too - in the same department. I've worked with him a few times; we once "made" a Panorama together.

We always used to get each other's emails and mail. I can state with certainty that his was more interesting than mine. I (in error) have been invited to a working breakfast with Colin Powel and to address the Oxford Union! Nearly went along with that one...:)

As far as rubber bands go, my "other" deck is a Lenco. It's not servicable yet though!
