No not 'Steam Ship Firebottle' but a foray into solid state.
Could well be the entry level into the Firebottle range :) Now known as the Firebottle OTP (Out The Park), thanks Bigbird.
Please note this is only entry level on price, not on performance.
Starts life as a donor far-eastern unit then has the Firebottle magic applied:

It is quite small, the £10 note below in the picture is for scale.
At present it is configured as an MC phono stage (ignore the fact that it says MM on the front), and plans are to turn it into a full phono/line preamp with volume control, input selector and MC/MM switching.
This is a one box solution, mains input at the rear.
Independent listening tests are to be carried out on Monday, but first impressions are really positive.

Its not a perfect example but just to give you a sense of its sound. The hiss is on the camera, not the FB-OTP.
I'll try and get a better one done. Bit limited with equipment to be honest.
Hi Oliver just heard the OTP ON YouTube very nice sound and a beautiful song ,of course I'm listening through my headphones and it seems to have a deep bass is that correct? Is it possible for you to upload a more uptempo song (rock or blues) to hear how it goes .

Hi mate,
DEEP bass, crisp treble and a very sweet mid range.
I will add a few more videos that show its ability but i cant do it until Monday !!! I'm off to work in 15 minutes or i would. Leave it with me.

No worries pal. Happy to do it. It sounds good considering it's being recorded on a Nikon D5300 DSLR lol. RCA to 3.5mm jack direct from passive preamp to camera. It sounds much better in my living room.

Absolutely the right thing to do. Take a few notes of your first impressions and then compare how you feel after a week or so. Thats what I do. Seems easier that way lol

Definitely. Ears are the most reliable tools. Reviews, opinions and specs can only tell you so much.

Ive had to buy a headphone amp to please the Wife. Listening to the same song 10 times in a row does get on peoples nerves lol. Seems that the most expensive capacitors aren't always the best sounding!!

Ferociously testing multiple types of Capacitors for the next incarnation of the FB-OTP and the upgrade pack.
Ive had to buy a headphone amp to please the Wife. Listening to the same song 10 times in a row does get on peoples nerves lol. Seems that the most expensive capacitors aren't always the best sounding!!

Make sure you give each type a decent time to not just burn in but for your ears to adjust. I went through lots when I was making my own cross overs. I eventually went for a combination which I never thought I would do. Combinations also set a different playing field so try and do it methodically. I'm sure you are though 😁

Thats a good shout, Josie. I am looking for further option as there are many to look at. Thankfully, someone informed me of some other to try so they will be on the purchase list soon!
