What's underneath the flap - level controls?

there's not much on the web about these,from what i gather its made up of plates that resonate and boost the bass,you can push the plate in and it feels like its on a rubber surround.,im off to get my screwdriver to investigate :)

They look OK actually. At least they are dual suspension. Cheap ones have no rear spider.
