This handsome and until recently fully functional deck is a direct drive fully automatic model that I have enjoyed enormously in my second system. Mechanically perfect and apart from dusting swirls on the lid cosmetically extremely good too. However...
Electrically it no longer shows any life - no strobe, no auto switching at all. It is not just a fuse as I have changed that. I have some power supply fault finding and repair instructions from Klaus (ex Dual repair manager) over on Vinyl Engine but I have little knowledge of electronics (as opposed to wiring stuff) and no test kit so I am very reluctant to try my hand at mains related repairs.
So, realistically it is over to an expert to bring back to life and enjoy. I converted it to the 1/2" headshell (fixed) from a CS505 type3 as they have the same geometry and so any cartridge can now be used. I also swapped platter mat from/to the same source as it is a heavier item and is flat not ridged.
I suggest £40 but am obviously open to offers and can meet somewhere within reasonable distance from the Durham area. I also have the original owner manual. All questions/enquiries welcome.
