As above, no valves, NOS, upsampling or Rega; anything else considered. Must be prepared to ship.

Thanks.

How fancy Martin.. got a price range?

It's elastic, depending on what is offered and how much I fancy it. :)

I'm after a cd player or a DAC transport combo (i.e one designed to work together) not after a transport on its own. But thanks for the offer anyway.

Under consideration. A bit spendy, mind.

Meridian CD players always sound extremely nice. Even the ancient 206, of which I've had a couple. The 506 and 507 are well worth tracking down. I have a 507 at the moment.

Yes I rate Meridian also, especially the old 1980s pin stripe stuff. Not sure of the model numbers, though. If anyone has any of that I would be interested.

Also would consider an Avondale-modded Arcam.

'emporiumhifi' have a decent looking 506 at a pretty reasonable £350 that I was sort of keeping an eye on. Dunno if it's the 18 bit, 20 bit or 24 bit version though. They should know. Each one is worth having.

They also make great transports, should any experiments in that direction take your fancy.

The Pioneer PD-S505 Precision sounds extremely good too. That's the Tom Evans modified one, upgraded for the UK market. I have a couple and enjoy them as much as the Meridian. They're a bit hard to find these days though.

I have one currently feeding my Monarchy Audio DAC. Great combo!

Cheers Geoff, that is now also under consideration.

Also interested in any Deltec/DPA kit.

I have a very fancy Marantz sa11s3 sacd player, only 6 months old, as new, black. 3k new, but you can have mine for £1600, and i know when it's gone i'll be kicking myself. Currently have three players, and i want to reduce the box count to one decent universal bluray/sacd/cd player.

It upsamples though, so not what I'm after. Thanks for the offer.

I'm thinking of selling my Moon CD3.3x. It's in black, in nice condition, and has the optional balanced XLR outputs along with RCA phonos.

Very high quality transport, which is to all intents and purposes silent in operation.

It also has a coaxial digital in, so you could use with a streamer for example, as I do.

Original box, packaging and remote.

I'm thinking of £925'ish, if I do sell.

Let me know if interested.

That's another upsampler but thanks anyway.

I know. It is tempting. Having two go bad on me puts me off a bit, and I'd rather avoid buying on eBay, at least from a private seller anyway. The days when you could pick them up for less than £200 seem to be gone.

Just looked at the photos of the Technics - doesn't inspire confidence when you see how much dust and dirt it's caked in!

One more offer, Martin: 1 working one, for 1 non-working one. What have you to loose?

PS
It's been THOROUGHLY cleaned.

Stephen, That's generous and a difficult offer to resist. Doesn't seem fair to you though, I would be happy to put some money in as well. Will send you a PM.

Earlier tonight I sent off for some capacitors for the power supply panel. If you pass on your address I'll send it, when I feel happy about what to send it in. You can then decide for yourself. The only thing I'm hesitant about, is getting it delivered - in tact.

I will be up your way for NEBO in May, we could sort out a swap over then?
