The Post Office really got over on me this time.

I had to put it in an envelope because it was an extra $65 to use a box. The $65 was only if I used their box. It would have been an extra $95 to use my own. There's a $30 fee for touching boxes that you don't buy from them, plus you still have to pay the $65 for their box that you aren't using.

That might be the most expensive bag of coffee on the planet now. I should have put some drugs in it.

You sent Coffee to Australia, hate to say it but Australian customs re food stuffs etc is the strictest in the world - good luck.

It's excellent coffee. I know the rules, so I wrote endangered birds on the customs manifest.

That's not bad at all. I pay around $25 for a 10oz bag of the good stuff. It varies depending on where they got it from. I don't drink that all the time though. Costco actually has some pretty decent Columbian for a good price.

These are 1lb bags of cafe express premium s. american . Guatamala or columbian. Prefer African stuff with a lighter slower roast but needs must and these are pretty good for the money.

Kenyan AAA is my favorite, or an Ethiopian espresso. It sounds like you'd like the shop I get it from. The guy that runs it is Hipstery but he roasts the best coffee I've ever had.

The South American stuff has the best bang for the buck.

Having lived and worked in numerous places I am continuously amazed by the variety of coffee types and the widely different forms of preparation. My last long term project was in Malawi where coffee was introduced by missionaries in the late nineteenth century. Although Malawi grows several different varieties one of the premium varietals is the Gesha/Geisha/Getcha bean. This originates in Ethiopia and has been cultivated in many places including Latin America. It has a flowery/lemony taste that is very different to the coffee served in my earlier project in Vietnam. The beans there are often roasted in clarified butter and served with copious amounts of condensed milk using a drip filter. It was unbearably sweet to my taste and made worse on the times I would forget to stir the sludge and would end up ingesting the slimy clots of milk. At least in the office I could drink the stuff black. Much better that way but I still prefer the floral varietals.

I had some similar to that when I was in Laos. It was more like a meal than a cup of coffee. I don't like milk or sugar in it at all so I wasn't a fan.

I've had good coffee from all over the world. I had some that was grown in Mexico that was fantastic a few months ago.
