Hey everyone! My hubby bought me an p1 for a rather special birthday
I had previously been doing lots of research and had initially planned to listen to the 1&3.
I have it all set up.. Running through Rega's Fonostage and Naim Nait. First record I put on I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it sounded (quite a pacey record, so didn't notice anything wrong), second record had longer notes and I noticed some distortion (wow and flutter?). I thought my record might be knackered...
However, this has been true of any further records where there are long notes.. I've also tried a test record. The shop said they'd swap it, but I've read this can sometimes be an issue of the p1s. I don't know what to do. I could just go all out and buy the p3... at the risk of offending my hubby ☹ or stick with the p1 with the likelyhood it's a one off. Has anyone else had issues like this? Is there anything I should check on it? It's my first deck, so I'm a total newbie!! I don't know if there's sometime I should do regarding the set up.
My record collection isn't massive so not sure an rp3 is warranted..
