Technical and General used to supply Connoisseur parts. I don't know if they're still going, but the details are here:

I personally prefer the earlier BD1 without the speed change. The notched motor pulley on later ones can be noisy, as can the speed changer if the belt rubs on it.

There was a bunch of Connoisseur bits on ebay recently. They may still be on offer. Can't recall if a speed change was included though.




I was just looking at my BD1 earlier today. I'll be building a new plinth to suit it.

My last one looked like this:
