There's a back story to the Naim one, some of which I heard from two separate sources who don't know each other. I also read that the Linn one was being ripped out of the AM in favour of better known car-sound manufacturers...

Naim didn't design the head unit by the way. I'm told it was done by LS Designs with some input from Martin Grindrod.

Not sure about the lower spec system, but the premium sound system for the DB9 is now made by Bang & Olufsen. Given that the B&O system in the Audi A8 is the best one I've ever heard, it should be pretty good.

Worries the life out of me to think that people are zooming about in motors like these with music blasting away at 115db, hardly an aid to driver awareness is it?

And the irony is so thick you could cut it with a knife!

Now I'm not about to dispute that assertion, Dave, as I have no information to the contrary, but who told you that - Ashley?

I'm not saying that he's being disingenuous, but given his track record for peddling, erm, little 'white lies' when it comes to portraying AVI and its products in an advantageous light (and those associated with the company), I'd like to put on my 'objectivists' hat for a change and ask to see some proper evidence to support your assertion ;)

A link with documented proof showing a connection with LS Designs and Martin Grindrod would be good, or whatever else you can come up with.

Perhaps Tim would also expand on his remark and provide similar evidence to support any subsequent assertions of a similar vein?

When it comes to this sort of thing we like to deal with facts on AoS, not tittle-tattle, should that be the case in this instance.

Marco.
