Guys and gals,

Having thought long and hard about this for some time, I've decided to sell my superb Goldpoint [47-step] passive preamp, simply because I mostly use the Croft preamp for everything, as it has a phono stage built in, so it deserves to go to a good home where it will be enjoyed regularly.

This unit is in pristine condition and has been further improved with a pure silver-wired point-to-point circuit, (10k) Z-foil resistors and solid-copper WBT 0210Cu Nextgen RCAs. See pictures below.

PCB removed and unit hardwired:

Z-Foil resistors clearly seen above, soldered directly to the outputs. Close-up of WBT RCAs, fitted to one set of inputs, and outputs to the power amp:

The cumulative sonic improvements of the upgrades move the performance of this preamp into veritable high-end territory. It has to be heard to be believed!

Ok, the stock unit costs $645 new, details here along with all other info, dimensions, etc: http://www.goldpt.com/sa4.html, which at today's rates is approx £520. Z-foil resistors, silver wire and WBTs cost me £170, so in total the unit has cost me *£690*.

However, as usual when I sell things, I give the AoS community the benefit of obtaining a top-notch piece of kit at a bargain price, so DELIVERED (anywhere in mainland UK), I'm offering this superb passive preamp for ONLY £450.00!

Interested buyers please express your interest here or via PM. Don't miss out on this amazing bargain, and the chance to own what is arguably one of the best passive preamps out there!!

Yup, I hard to think long and hard about it mate, but in the end it wasn't getting used enough, so decided to let it go to a good home, and someone looking for a top-notch passive that will compete with pretty much anything else out there :)

Ok chaps, let's invoke the 'Sunday night silliness' clause, and knock it down to £400, delivered... That's nearly £700-worth of passive preamp for £400!!

And no, worry not, it won't get any 'sillier' than that! ;)

Good move on the Epoch, Mikey. You'll like that :)

Ok, one last go before this is withdrawn. Passives must not be in fashion this month!! £385 delivered. FINAL OFFER.

Considering the quality of this unit, it's a stupid price, but hey, that's me! :D

If only I needed a passive pre....
There has been so much gear I fancy for sale on here recently. Only problem is that I need to be sensible as far as the budget is concerned.

not sure if someone has bought this but I noticed this on sjs thread on another forum

Alps- Jap luxury
TKD CP-2500,
Alps Blue
?
Alps Black
Penny and Giles,
TKD CP-600,
Megatron,
Alps RK097
Noble

Confident on most of them, I have absolutely no idea what No4 is though.

having used most of them is passives I can tell you one thing though. The Goldpoint units beat them all for transparency, hands down.
