Hello there,
I'm looking for a good CD player with headphones output socket.

What about the Pioneer PD-S series?

Many thanks.

I have a Marantz CD6005 which sounds lovely through the amp or headphones. It's very well made and finished and they are available in black or silver. There is also a USB port on the front panel which is very handy for ipods etc. Still available new for under £200 and IMHO a real bargain.

I have a Pioneer PD-S705 but it does NOT have a headphone socket.

The Pioneer replaced a Marantz CD63 Ki Signature which had a headphone socket with volume controllable with the remote control.

Problem is that most headphone outputs on CDPs are hopelessly compromised. Better to use a cheap CMOY-style headphone amp in a mint tin, for better results, and freeing up CD player choices.

PD-S505 Precision.

Lovely sounding player. Makes a great transport too. I have a couple.

Micromega Stage series. Very decent headphone amp. I have compared to stock musical fidelity xcans and it was not really that far as for the sound quality.

Not a Lehmann Black Cube Linear, but really good!
