Hi all
Avinash and myself have just spent an enjoyable afternoon at Mr I Walkers listening to his sytem which includes Tannoy Canterburys Must say I was very impressed with this setup. The guy playing the drums was in the bloody room, not sure if it was the preamp he was using which gave the sound so much heft.Anyway Idashed hometo play the same track and was quite underwhelmed by what I heard so I will be trying to find out if it is the speakers or amp providing the magic,I think it may be the GG preamp,[wot do you think Ian]
Dave.

Hi Dave,

Glad you guys had a good time :)

Which preamp are you referring to that Ian was using? I wasn't aware that he had one yet, as he's awaiting on the arrival of a Shindo...

Also, which track was it you were playing?

Hi Marco
Cant remember the track now,[it was more than 3 seconds ago]but the preamp was a Rozenblitz GG copy which usually sat in the garage in disgrace but, it didnt half do the biz today. Also Happy New year to you and your good lady, and to Vinnie and Pat and everyone on AOS.

By the way, there's an excellent article about the history of Tannoy the company in this month's Hi-fi News :)

Noted on the preamp - you just love Tannoys, mate, so you'll need to empty the change from your back pocket and get some :lolsign:

The giddy fun you boys are having in this thread may be the best recommendation for big Tannoys to date.
