I think this is the original Oak Audio model but please correct me if you know different.

Supplied without an arm. It had an ADC on it which are Rega geometry. The hole is oval though (the veneer matches suggesting it was always like that) and the three point mounts suggest that perhaps it would take a Linn arm as well though you would need to measure up.

Works fine. I was getting a bit of noise switching on and off so I recapped the motor board as a precaution. There is still a small click though my MF phono stage but nothing to cause concern - certainly better than most of the AC motor Regas I've had.
It would benefit from a new belt as the original is pretty slack but it does still work.
Bearing sounds fine.

Cosmetically it's not bad with a few marks here and there and a slight wrinkle to the veneer on the left cheek of the plinth. Lid has the usual light marks but nothing serious and no cracks.

I'd like a nice round £100 for it. Collection from just outside Bicester please (M40, J9).

Nice looking thing, isn't it ?
Reminds me of a Systemdek for some reason.

It was marketed (and made?) by Moth Marketing near Bedford I remember.

Note to the future owner. As with Rega, make sure the parts (main bearing housing mainly) are firmly tightened to the plinth. If not, sonics suffer dramatically in my experience. I maintain that the lid should be totally removed when playing on all 'solid' decks like this...

I say the above as we bought the review sample that was panned in a review. Tightening 'everything' up (ours had a Rega 300 arm) really did transform the sound into something rather good imo.

They were made at Cranleigh in Surrey by Oak Audio themselves. I believe that Moth may have marketed them although I don't know if that was for the whole time they were in production.

To balance David's post, they had some good reviews. Have search round the web. Plenty of happy owners out there. With the ADC arm and cartridge on it, I would take it over a Rega P2/P3 (but then I would say that).

If anyone wants to bring an arm round and have a listen before buying, you are most welcome. I can also supply a cartridge if required (but not an arm at present).

Believe it or not these sound great. I once made up a mounting plate & fitted a mayware arm to it. I was extremely suprised with the outcome.. Vety heavy high Quality Lids too, just like the CJ Walker 'CJ58' Lids..

I still have this in the cupboard if anyone is interested. Now has a new drive belt but it's black as that's all you can get now.

Is it the 'Oak', 'Super Oak' [Moth Kanoot] or 'Little Oak'?

I've no idea I'm afraid. I'm not sure where the picture has gone from the original post but you can see it here:

Ah thats just the standard Oak Deck. Its missing its original Red belt tho.

Get that on a wall shelf with the Lid removed & say something like an Alphason Arm, will be superb.
